I am building a Wilson Combat 1911 I and have a question what is the Diff between a mainspring housing that is "Speed chute flat" or an "Speed chute officers"? and if it does not matter which one i pick does the choice effect anything else in the build?

Thanks in advance.

My guess is that the officers one is specifically for officers sized 191l's

I like how the Glock guys can reach across the aisle and help out a fellow pistoleer.

If this were the other way around, the 1911 guys would already have started the Glock bashing.

As far as I know the flat and the officer are one in the same. I guess it depends on manufacturers

I can completely break down my Glock with a center punch and flat head screw driver in a matter of minutes. It's so easy ill never have to ask for message board help

Different manufactures use different verbiage. I would check with the manufacturer to make sure

I would go with the regular flat to make sure.

I know the grip on officer-sized 1911s is shortened but I'm not sure what exact part of it has been shortened. I'm not sure if they shortened the MSH or the grip safety.

This is what I thought

Disclaimer: KR and bapple are probably more of an expert than me.

A good friend of mine was given a Wilson 1911 as a gift that a friend of his built and we could never get the damn thing to run right. After mad polishing of the feed ramp it worked a little better, but it still always seems to hang up on the last round in the mag no matter what mag we tried.

You're the third person I've heard that from believe it or not. I don't have any personal experience so I can't comment on them. But basically the same issues, feed problems.

And with the limited ammo capacity of the 1911, that really sucks.

I think a lot of the issues surround the guy who assembled it. I know my friend had to go back and do some additional fitting on some of the parts to make it return to battery properly. Overall it's been pretty frustrating since Wilson's are supposed to be top notch.... Although I'm 100% sure their production complete guns are a lot different
