and boat inspected.... all good....
especially this part.....
All persons born after January 1, 1984, must complete a boating education course and carry proof of completion to operate a motorboat in excess of 10 horsepower. The person may operate the boat if accompanied by someone over 18 years of age who if required has completed the course.
I took the course with him - and I have extensive time on the water and real time training.. and I learned a few things...

Yes it does, but IMO you're spending the right way.

I make it by 7 weeks. I took a Boat safety class, but that was 15-17 years ago. I have no clue where my safety card is and haven't for at least 10 years.

I'll say it again - the course should be mandatory for everyone....

No education is value free.
It is worthwhile.

I took it online a couple months ago. Since then, LDWF has sent me 5 boater's safety cards. I get one in the mail about every two weeks, so I have one in my wallet, in my boat, in my truck, and a couple spares in a drawer at home
Not sure why they keep sending them to me, they're all identical.

Still amazing that someone with more money than sense can get/operate a xhundred horsepower
vessel and, with no training or experience, be allowed to run it. Training should be mandatory. Tiered as well like pilots training.

Missed the deadline by a couple years. Still haven't taken the class.

Did You Know
Next time you renew your driver's license at the Office of Motor Vehicles, you can add the following endorsements to your license; Lifetime hunting, Lifetime fishing, Lifetime combination, Boater education, and Hunter education at no additional cost (Just bring the license or education card with you next time you renew to add the endorsement).

They will rip your arse for that in Bama, if you have the card from the class and it's not on your DL, youget a ticket.

I 100% agree and have been preaching this since the law first came out but there is always that old timer "who have been driving boats since before they could walk and know everything there is about a boat and their ain't no damn class that is gonna teach them anything they didn't learn on their own"

I took it in high school. Thought it was a waste of time and common sense.
I have no clue where my card is but figured green jeans could look it up
