How long before we need one for a kayak? Lol.

I'm supposed to have numbers on my kayak because I put a trolling motor on it. Yeah, not gonna happen.

I took the class when I bought my boat in 2012, I also receive a discount on my boat insurance for having one.

Good class, well worth the time.

Wife and I got fussed at for not having our Type 5 on while fishing by green jeans in Henderson. I had 2 throwables on board so maybe that is why he didn't write me up? I learned something that day.

I'll say it again - the course should be mandatory for everyone....
I agree. I hate that i missed the date by a month but i feel if they want the waters safer, it should read that everyone driving a boat should have the training and give like a year or 2 for people to do it.

i believe so. you have options to take the course from different providers. I believe a coast guard licence would suffice.

I took it in high school. Thought it was a waste of time and common sense.

I have no clue where my card is but figured green jeans could look it up

Same, except since the hood kids couldn't act right in the shop our ag class teacher decided to make us take boating safety course and gave us the written test. The problem is since he figured most of them would never drive a boat he never turned in the paperwork so I took and passed the test 10 years ago but my paperwork was never turned in. I need to redo it.

FYI, it can be taken online for free, think it takes about 2-3 hours though.

Also, to the people who took it years ago and are missing your card, I just recently went online and typed in my info and had a new card mailed to my house because I had lost mine from years ago.
