That girl 100% had to take a shite

Let's remember she has been going for almost an entire year without much of a break. Cross Country -> Indoor -> Outdoors NCAA -> Trials -> Olympics.

LOL. I didn't even think of that.

I was just thinking about that. Would love to hear how they’ve handled training after trials. Feel like I would’ve given her a week off, light week, and then a quick build up phase.

Americans in a good spot. If Parker’s smart she can use siffan when she makes her move

You can tell from Parker's arm swing that she does a ton of mileage on the arc trainer. It's weird

Oh wow. I didn’t know Tsegay was the one that potentially made contact with Hassan at Worlds.
Tsegay was the one that had contact with the Ugandan in an earlier race this meet (5000 maybe?)

Yea it is a bit odd. The arc trainer would make sense

Parker looks good right now. All 3 Americans do honestly. I know it’s not a fast pace really but they don’t look stressed

Are any of our girls really strong closers?

I get setting your own pace. I don't understand running in the back of the pack. You're running at the same pace as the front of the pack to keep contact, so it's not any easier, and you still have to pass them all who will have a lead on you.
I was never a distance runner, so maybe I just don't get it.

Also, the Nalby girl really looks rough on form right? She looks more like an athlete running vs a runner running if that makes sense

She’s still right now running about as fast as I can probably sprint and she’s running a10,000 m.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re basically drafting behind the top folks. Packs will start to separate.
It’s why teams get in the front and switch up who leads. You don’t want to lead the whole thing, you will expend more energy.

It’s always easier to run from the back than the front. You’re not doing the work of setting the base and don’t have to worry about getting into trouble. Only downsides is your running someone else’s race other than your own and you have to worry about making moves around people later. It’s not a bad strategy if you’re smart with it. Hesan has been really smart this race making the right moves when she needs to.

I understand drafting in NASCAR, but how much of a draft can an individual make in an enclosed stadium?

Anytime distance runners bunch like that it makes me so nervous. I can’t imagine running in it.
