yeeeep.

The amount of kids asking me if they could cross train instead of run everyday has been insane this summer. I have one girl doing cross training twice a week because she’s had a history of stress reactions but there’s kids that are definitely hearing about her and trying to take advantage of it.

I wonder how he’s been handling being in the village and everything. I know being 16 in that environment has to be tough to focus.

I think I'd rather run in the humidity than do 2 hours on a cross trainer. There aren't enough YouTube videos in the world to keep me entertained

I’d be getting myself in so much trouble as a red blooded young dude surrounded by hot athletes left and right.

just read up on her routine, still doing 25 to 40 miles a week

what is your typical college 5k and 10k milage look like?

i'd assume there is some lifting in there too

Depends on the program/coach.

First coach I had I was pushing 90+ most weeks

Second coach kept us at like 70

Parkers running mileage is closer to what you see from 800 and maybe some 1500 runners that range down to the 8. She’s getting her sweat equity in the pool/bike/alter g. Which is fine and well (obviously she’s in the Olympics and is an ncaa champion). The only frustration I have is getting kids thinking they should do that not understanding everything that goes into it/why she does it.

Yea she’s insane. Always makes me feel small seeing these girls at NCAAs obliterate my PRs. (I wasn’t “good” by any means but still)

Just her making the Olympics was amazing. I am hoping she does well and hangs until the kick. I think she might have the ability to eventually compete with the elite runners of the world. I can't believe the arch trainer people (Cybex I guess) hasn't signed her to a deal and made commercials already.
