Does this mean that a lot of Ranters tend to root for Mexico? They don't get "no" medals, but they have 3 medals so far (although they're in the Artistic Swimming final today).

I don't pick a specific country; if there's one in an event that hasn't won one yet then I cheer for them except against fellow Americans. So if there's an American I'm hoping said country wins Silver; if no Americans then Gold, etc.

Aside from the good ol' U. S. of A., do you have a sentimental favorite that you root for in the Olympics? I've always been a big fan of the Aussies.

I like seeing small countries with little to no Olympic success winning golds, especially if the US isn't in contention

But seriously is the US isn’t in it I go for whoever the underdog country is.

I am a big fan of dogs. It is how I watch most sports that I don't have a real favorite between the two (or more). Being honest with the Olympics it is often the human interest story that gets me on their side.

I will always root for America though even if for some reason I dislike the athlete.

I like Team GB and team Ireland but generally if non-US, I like a back story or an underdog.

I'll add Fiji to the list as well. Apparently that have been having outdoor worship services and other athletes hanging out on their balconies listening to the Fijian choir

Ukraine

Very possible the young men competing for Ukraine will have to join their military brothers and fight for their country.

All ways root for the US.

Always against China and almost always against Russia, except the Figure Skating.

We had Au Pairs from Germany, Norway, Finland.

Anybody with Texas ties.

I enjoy the Olympic Spirit, the sportsmanship, seeing the favorites rising to the occasion, and seeing the dark horses come out of nowhere for the win.
