"political" is basically assigned to any idea/statement/opinion that contrasts with what the person saying "it's political" believes.... to them, everything is on one side of the ledger or not, and if it's on the opposite side of them, then whoever or whatever it is is now bad/ugly/terrible/evil, etc... it's unbelievable how fricking warped people's minds have become over some of these issues...
