I've been watching the winter Olympics for a long time. One thing that has always bothered me is watching the Nordic countries x-country ski. Just the way they use their ski poles. Not both at the same time like a normal human might. Left one first, then the other. Anyway, it is way past time that we brought the real distance dudes into this sport. Ethiopians. These ultra-white boys would not/could not stand a chance against them.

(Removes tongue from cheek...)

When you walk or run, do you swing both arms at the same time?

Yea, my bad. Rough day at work. It was much funnier (6 fingers into a 5th of Makers) in my head at the time...

Something tells me the trained athletes know a thing or two more about their own sport than some rube who is sniffing their own farts while watching.

Of course not. You've never skied on snow would be my guess. Downhill or x-country, you use your entire upper body to give your miserable legs some help. But even turning on a counter-clockwise track, they lean on the wrong arm. I do realize that there are many switch-backs on the course so all of the Chinese Tulane fans get a better view, but the Nordic countries do not deviate. They favor the wrong arm. (Yes, the laws of physics escape my reach, so, beat you to it....) In any event, next winter olympics, I will try to keep commentary to myself after 4 fingers of bourbon. No guarantees, however.

I'm 58 and about 28 pounds overweight. Sniffing ones own farts is way underrated at my age. I'm guessing you're not quite there yet.

So when you were past 4 fingers did you use the 2nd hand or just move the hand down to measure 2 more?

Cheers! Just busting balls

Kind of like how the jamaican bobsled team always wins because they're faster runners.
