I posted about this a few weeks ago, but now that the oil has continued leaking and so much dispersant has been used, is it still safe to swim in the ocean? I am heading home in July and I normally spend every single day on the beach...so this is not the normal "I will be there for a week"...

Really? How about the question "Would you live within 200 miles outside of the area from New Orleans to Houston? Would you be safe to breathe the air?".
Just sayin'....

The air quality is not really an issue.

Wow. When I ask about the air quality be sure to chime in. However, the question was not concerning how well I breathe. I was instead asking if I am in constant contact with water which may have dispersed oil in it, is that dangerous.

Don't recall responding to you, but you can take it however you want. So water contact with chemicals is bad but breathing it is ok? Got it.

People breathe this all day long that work offshore so the effects of that are a little more studied. Moreover, I am currently in Los Angeles on an assignment, and I can assure you the air here is MUCH worse on my lungs. But no one has really ever swam in an area of a spill like this. PWS in Alaska was not exactly a tropical paradise, you know?
