What is the percentage of oil to water When all is said and done?

From GulfBase.org
The basin contains a volume of 2,434,000 cubic kilometers of water (6.43 * 1017 or 643 quadrillion gallons).
Can someone help me with this.

Youre going to have to know how much oil is spilled.

Here it is for Ixtapa or whatever that spilled 140 million gallons
2.177e^-10 percent
2.177e^-10 percent

Are you seriously going to try and argue that this is a drop in the bucket?

mother nature will heal herself when it is all said and done. Of course that means more of the bluewater issues. If this thing gets into the estuaries and the marshes, we's in trouble.

it's a tiny number but it's going to hurt
ETA:
1 drop of water in a 5 gallon bucket = .00026%

No,just the amount of water out there is incomprehensibly. This spill changes everything.

If it starts killing the coral reefs we're also in trouble.
Deep Sea Oil Plumes, Dispersants, endanger reefs

Yeah it would suck to see this bang up the keys and the reefs but this may be an equal opportunity distaster and not just a pick on the central gulf coast. I'm still worn out from Katrina.

1 quart of motor oil can contaminate (ie make it toxic to aquatic life) 250,000 gallons of water.
Source
This link is one of many.
So 1 gallon of crude can contaminate 1,000,000 gallons of water. 1,000,000 gallons of crude contaminates 1x10E12 gallons of water. I think that;s a quadrillion gallons (!!), or a thousand trillion but its early and I haven't had my coffee yet. It's possible to convert that to cubic feet and then work from that. I'll leave that for someone else because I need to go to work.
Whatever the percentage is, it's not good for anything living in the water in that area.

Not sure this is a relevant question. The more relevant question would seem to be, what is the concentration of oil in the water in which environmentally and commercially vulnerable systems exist?

1 quart of used motor oil is not the same as a quart of crude. FWIW I can't find how much water a quart/barrel of oil contaiminates. I guess it isn't really known because not all oil is created equal

the bp a-hole said this a tiny spill relative to the size of the ocean. That mentality is why this happened. He could give a shite.
