Luke .. once the new well reaches the blow out preventer how do they block/cap/stop the well? What do they plug it up with?

Too bad we can't get Bruce Willis and his crew on the DD3 to drill the well. The man can drill on an asteroid, 5k ft+ would be nothing for Harry.

The relief well isnt drilled to the BOP, its drilled to a predetermined location within the leaking wellbore (couple thousand ft below the sea floor probably) and i would assume they circulate high density drilling mud to neutralize the pressure differential and then pump cement into the well to plug and abandon it.

Its in the high and dry at CC on the 2nd level, so unless the oil get +30ft deep we're good

You keep saying this but how do you know? What are they going to do about the 4,500 bpd flowing out of the hole 5000 ft. down? You may be a PE but I just don't see how you can be so confident that everything is just fine. It looks to me like a major disaster that has just started. BP does not share your confidence.
