another article i just read stated that it did not matter where it hit this weekend. as the oil continues to flow and the tides, currents and winds change eventually the entire gulf may be affected.
I dont doubt that will happen.

Hmmmm. We are in Gulf Shores all week. Parents just went on evening walk on the beach and came back with "tar" spots on the bottom of their feet. Just like they used to get on Grand Isle back in the day.
According to the maps it isn't anywhere close and I am skeptical that it is actually oil on their feet but we have been on the beach all week and this is the first time we have seen this type of substance on the feet.
Just sayin. Take it fwiw.

It really sucks. The commercial guys are freaking out. I have customers from Bayou La Battre to Inter Coastal City. The real industry to be affected will be the Oyster Industry. It could be devastating. Crossing fingers for sure.

They have every right to be right now. This is shitty what could happen to them, I wouldnt doubt some lawsuits.

no where is going to be safe....i still can't believe they aren't burning over night. Anyone know why? and while I am at it, who the frick is this Mary Landry lady from the press conferences? When she said today that this is not a catastrophe I could have run her over with my car...
Posted on 4/28/10 at 8:36 pm to eye65
My best guess is they arent burning overnight tonight because they are still testing to see if burning it will even do anything. But that is 100% best guess.

We are in Los Angeles at the moment. We live in Orange Beach though by the state park. A friend called us today and said the pass had been closed and my mother called and let us know they put the booms out last night...
