Just looked at the live feed. This isn't where the "siphoning tube" or whatever it is was placed is it????
And are the pipes I'm seeing actually part of the BOP????

I think they have started . Looks like a lot of mud coming out of the riser .
Posted on 5/26/10 at 10:52 am to TexTiga

Is the riser the thing that looks like it's lying down? I thought that was oil coming ... oh, yeah, and I don't know shite so please don't laugh.

any tv channels dedicated to the operation?
Posted on 5/26/10 at 10:56 am to lsu xman
yes that is the end of the riser laying down where it broke.
Posted on 5/26/10 at 10:57 am to mylsuhat
So do you think that is mud or not ?
Posted on 5/26/10 at 11:51 am to TexTiga
i might be wrong but the mud is supposed to be about twice the density of water which would lead me to believe it would not be rising out of the broken pipe but instead sinking to the sea floor.

Looks like the flow just increased significantly and something is mixing in with that oil for sure...
I'm sure BP wont tell us when they start. Hell, yesterday they wanted to turn the damn feed off so people wouldnt be watching.

I saw an eel or some other odd sea creature swim by earlier.

The lighter colored "fluid" isnt the mud?

so is that the pipe that was attached to the rig? looks like it is covered with rocks on the left...I wish there was a good animation or illustration that showed what happened...
