I would have to ASSume that the riser is still on bottom because we watched them trying to disconnect it, probably to take it up in sections. I would think that most of the riser is still on the gulf floor with the exception of the section from the kink to where the riser was first cut with the shears.

If you read back the kinked section is the part of the riser I was talking about. It would contain what ever was in the kink. They have much better things to do now than to fool with the rest of the riser.

Not disputing or anything just stating what appears to be in the gulf and what appear should be either on a ship or in a sled on the bottom.

Sorry... I guess I am just so use to snipers on the rant that I jump to conclusions some times. Sorry again.

Just seems like the kink section would be something they would really want to see top side. Seems like it could contain some useful info for them.

Agree, but I have heard nothing about it. I would think evidentiary custody would be a concern the moment I surfaced.

The kinked section of riser? It probably won't tell them much if anything. They need to see inside the BOP and the wellhead.

Why would they unsling it?

Could be a deck space issue. They have a lot going on up there. Producing 15K a day, drilling two relief wells, ROVs in the water all the time, etc.

I think they put some mud mats down to set the riser on.

Gotta just be the NG, right, the oil wouldn't be able to even remotely get enough O2, right?

Surprised the NG does get enough, but I guess it's possible, and it sure as hell does look like it.

Am I right? or is that just lighting playing tricks on us?

The HD pics are amazing. The scientists can get a pretty good estimate on the flow now.

I think the flare like things are the dispersants, but not 100%.

Thad Allen just said the new ship is being brought in and they expect to be at 28K barrels/day next week.

New govt estimate coming out soon with the HD video and good oil and gas ratio information.
