this is more like it.

quote:

A representative for Jefferson Parish Emergency chief Deano Bonano said they requested immediate action after oil moved into the marsh passes and onto the beaches in Grand Isle. He said more than 40 boats were sitting idle while he watched the oil rush into the passes.

I agree action needs to be taken, but I feel like this is headed for a huge cluster frick of people "trying to take charge". Someone needs to step up, not necessarily everyone. Imagine if every region that eventually gets affected, tries to do the same.

It's better than the boats sitting idle while the oil rushes by. If every region took control of the boats when in this situation it would probably be a good thing.

The incompetence on display is really astounding. I have a hard time wrapping my head around some of the stupidity being reported at times.

Read this article and keep in mind the idle boats. Funny how one group of gov peaching doom while anonther group fiddles while the marshes perish.

BP PLC — which leased the sunken rig and is responsible for the cleanup — said Saturday that cleanup crews have started more direct cleanup methods along Pass a Loutre in Plaquemines Parish. Shallow water skimmers were attempting to remove the oil from the top of the marsh.

Streams of water could later be used in a bid to wash oil from between cane stalks.

Yea that is going to work great you fricking douches. These scumbags probably roll in at high tide and run a broom across some grass and call it all cleaned up.

In other cases, the company will rely on "bioremediation" — letting oil-eating microbes do the work.

"Nature has a way of helping the situation," said BP spokesman John Curry.

So is BP mass producing these microbes now? We need more of them please because they seem to be failing up to this point. Is relying on microbes really their plan? Holy fricking shite I don't even know what to say.
