I'll post from Pensacola this weekend. I tried to request some stickies for first hand reports, but it only resulted in failure. 
Still a good idea for everyone to post unbiased updates when they can. A lot of people are in limbo as to whether or not to cancel trips, and I'd hate to see people cancel when they shouldn't, and likewise for people that should (heavy oil, water closures, etc.).

Looks like people are in the water and on the beach to me. Here is a link to a live camera in Gulf Shores and everyone can see for themselves.

From Gulf Shores...Just got back upstairs from some time in the gulf and the water is as clear as it's been since the tar balls came in. The only oil on the beach is baked and harmless.

That's great to hear. Just talked to the lady at Meyer Realty and she said they are relaxing the 30 day cancellation policy in favor of a 24-hour policy. Said we can watch and monitor the situation until the day before we're scheduled to arrive. Have a great time down there!

Me and the Mrs. headed the other direction to Lake of the Ozarks next week. Hope you guys luck holds out on the oil thing while you're on the beaches.

Friend in Orange Beach just texted us
We stayed at Phoenix 6 over Memorial Day weekend and it was about 80%. It was still nice.
We're leaving Monday morning for a week at the Phoenix 6. I hope it is 10% occupied! (I hate crowds) My mom is in Perdido now and is keeping us posted daily. She says Perdido is as beautiful as ever.
