Just heard on WAFB that the vacuum barges that were being deployed by Louisiana to try and head off some of the surface oil headed for the marshes have been shut down by the Coast Guard. Said "additional studies are needed".

To the Federales

Anarchy appears to be at hand

Yep-they showed one that had already been put to work. In the marsh. Frickers.

Rick Perry is ready to take Texas down the Secession path, maybe we can join in.

This is total bull shite. Screw the feds and their crap. LA needs to go at it alone. The Feds just need to get out of the way.

To the feds, keeping control is more important than stopping the destruction of the wetlands!

It's time to just say to hell with the feds and do what we what. What is the coast guard going to do to stop you? A frigate cant come in the waters they are operating in. I highly doubt any person in the US service would result to violence to stop us.
Just do it and laugh while you clean up the spill.

Sometimes its easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

We just need to go ahead and succeed. Then join Opec.

Success would be nice, but would secession get us there...

The BP and oil apologists are strangely absent from this thread.

All the Gulf states should, and Mississippi can be our Puerto Rico.

Jindal needs to give the Feds the finger if he thinks this is the right course of action. Of course he needs to be prepared to pay for it with state money.
