This is the first 'governor of Florida' related appearance or statement I have seen from Crist since the spill. He's been pretty focused on his shitty attempt at running for senate. I guess someone told him "Hey, BTW you're still governor for a little longer, brah.".

All figures from WEAR channel 3 Pensacola:
I honestly think this first wave/ band/ tentacle will be mild. Listening to the news here earlier, the big arse blob was 30 miles away on Thursday. But it had moved 5 miles closer since the day before (Wednesday). That is when shite is gonna get real. This light sheen and tar balls won't be that devastating. They expected the light sheen to evaporate before making land, as it was too thin to even skim. The tar balls will wash up, but again, the big shite storm is still pushing our way.
With unfavorable winds right now, if it maintains a 5 mile an hour pace, the real shite storm will be here sometime next week. Then you will see some black beaches and outcry. Lots of people getting in their last beach goodbyes this week. I have some time today, and I will try to ride over and take some pics to post.
Also, reported this morning, the CDC said light contact with the oil is not that bad for you. Just was it off with soap or baby oil. I know this is a naturally occurring substance, but I admit I was surprised by the report.

Considering the # of electoral votes in Fla, perhaps the feds will begin to take things more seriously. It's no longer the stepchildren - LA, MS and AL - that are getting pissed on. It's Florida.
