Thank you for posting this, Notiger. A friend of mine just pointed out that it appeared on this board.
I wrote it.
For days I had been reading the most inane, ignorant things on the boards of all the major newspapers, but the New York Times in particular. I have been involved with the E & P industry in one way or another for twenty years, and I just blew a fuse. So I came in one morning and just hammered this out.
So thank you all for the comments. The best part of it all is that you all get it, unlike so many of the people whose posts I have been reading. Again, thanks.

Well done Judge. As many here will appreciate your straight forwardness. While you are hard at work hammering out articles like this to world wide publications, there are many on this site that are just rubbing it out to the latest WYHI thread. Thank you for trying to talk a little sense into the uninformed, ignorant media heads out there. Your service is appreciated.

I wish you had more time to keep at it and post that kind of logic on message boards all over the country to help keep people somewhat informed. I am sure it does not change most people in how they think, but at least the truth is out there now.

i wish all the oil companies would shut down in the gulf for a week or two. when the prices sky rocket maybe the "oil and water don't mix" crowd would change their tune.

Stop purchasing their gasoline and oil products in large numbers (groups) around the nation (one day a week for the rest of the year), would be a way of silently protesting the fact that they illegally break the laws with the governments approval all the time. If they have ability too cause this kind of misery on the Gulf Coast States; just to try to justify their means to rais the prices...
riding bikes, walking short distances and more communiting together to get things done are other options. Sounds like more Chaos by the wealthiest people on the planet towards the common folks trying to make a living day to day.

Some of the comments that the Judge was responding to:
quote:
the most important question we can ask now is: Why are we still drilling for oil? why risk befouling our one and only planet, our only water source? Obama--consider the longterm consequences and reverse your decision to expand offshore drilling. The more drills we have, the more chances for this to happen.
quote:
We're 120 days from hurricane season. Hurricane clouds can pick this oil up and drop it from Atlanta to timbucktoo. Think. If it is on the beaches or offshore the wind will take it inland to coat every thing with oil, alive or not. BP NOW SAYS IT WILL BE ANOTHER WEEK BEFORE THE DOME CAN WORK. So you create Frankenstein and the only one who can stop him from killing the Villagers is the scientist and he's a BP engineer with an Abby Normal brain. We are standing here waiting for our home to be destroyed and it all balances on BP engineers. Just our lucky, lucky, lucky day in Dixie.

This would never work. It only helps them to make more money with less work.....FYI
