Super Typhoon Goni. It is currently the strongest Typhoon of the season with winds nearly at 150mph.

It was actually 130kts when I posted it. From the tweet I saw.
But some others have it @ 150kts. So, I guess we can both be right.

And no way it goes west of Lafayette.

Super Typhoon Goni now has estimated winds approaching 190mph. It is easily the "best looking" storm of the season.
It went from a Cat 1 to a Cat 5 in less than 24 hours. It is the first storm since Wilma in 2005 to go sub-900mb and is currently at 891mb. It will likely make a landfall in the Philippines as a Cat. 4.

That was a super fast hurricane.
Weird how it came in 2 waves.

First wave then calm for 20 mins, then the 2nd wave.
