Most high fence operations will not keep Zebras, especially males because they are so aggressive. While they are quite good at biting as proven here, they love to kick as well. One high fence operation I know of lost well over $100K in other dead game from a Zebra herd that went on a rampage at feeder kicking other animals where multiple other species were all eating.

Also they taste nothing like chicken. While they are edible, they are not really high on my list and after you skin one out, the damn thing looks like a horse. About the only reason to shoot one is for the cape.

Raise your hand, if you're able, if you ever thought a zebra bite could sever your arm?

So they shot him for being a Zebra and doing what male Zebra's do.

Yeah this is bs. If it was fenced in, get out, leave him alone, & let him get his. Now this is something I could get behind animal rights activists on.

Zebras can be expensive.

They say it can cost an arm and a leg.

When you get one for half price, that seems like a good deal.

They told the deputies not to turn their backs on the zebra, since that was when it would attack, and gave them permission to put down the zebra if necessary. A deputy then fatally shot the zebra in the head due to its continued aggressive behavior.

I bet that was instantaneous.

Did y’all hear the guy asking the other guy how to operate the safety ? This is nuts. I quit watching.

Ban people who don’t know how to operate shotguns.

“ Which way does the red thig make the gun go ? “. Nuts. Loosely quoted.

Why is everyone on page 1 an 2 so hung up on the “bites man’s arm off” and highlighting that the man will keep his arm.

They reattached his arm. It still got frickin bitten off before the reattached it.

Imagine losing your arm, knowing that everyone who hears the story will either laugh or not believe you.

Yes, hunted Zebras. Interesting animal. Very good eyesight and when they spook the entire herd spooks. Skittish as hell when hunted but they aren’t super high on the list for most hunters so they generally become nothing more than targets. They have been known to give lions a bad day when chased when they kick back while in pursuit .

I was within 20 feet of this mom and her little one in Zimbabwe and closer than that to the pair in the other photo. Could have been me (except I was in a Land Rover, photographing through a window).
