The money I now pay for streaming is more than I paid for Cox cable. I will be looking into either going back to Cox since they now have an app to watch remotely…….. or going to firestick.

Get ready for a $10-$15 price hike. Gonna get to the point where cable is more feasible.

It feels like this happens every 6 months.

Streaming managed to better than cable for all of maybe 5-6 years tops.

Now it's just as expensive, you have way more stream specific gated content you miss out on, and there are constant carriage contract disputes.

The future sucks.

The mouse is trying to knife Google to get them out of the streaming space. It will probably work.

Alphabet's revenue is 3.5 times that of Disney.

Alphabet's gross profit is double the revenue of Disney.

Disney is the villain here, not Google.

They are intentionally bombing negotiations with unrealistic demands to drive people to their bundle offer with Fox.

That's a good point. I'm not sure if there's anything that Disney can't/won't frick up.

That’s not really true. I used to have Cox for 20+ years before switching to YouTube and they never had a dispute with anyone

You're full of shite. Either that or you weren't paying close enough attention.

It’s wild that it’s been so long it hasn’t been on the service. I’ve got Peacock so I do get to watch.

Some people carry these streaming services only for sports

I can see why they're upset when the only thing that they use the platform for disappears

Those people don't need YouTube TV. If all they want is sports, they can get all the sports they need from other services for less cost.

Don’t blame anybody for canceling but it’s not YouTube TV’s fault that Disney is intentionally making unreasonable demands to YT that it knows YT won’t agree to. Disney is trying to nuke YTTV to force people onto its new ESPN app. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong that’s just what’s going on.

Exactly. It is just business. The consumer is just a pawn in a battle for supremacy between media conglomerates. It is what we refer to as "capitalism", and we love to say our system is better than socialism and communism.

The consumer has very little power unless they organize, which is easier to do in the internet age, but most of the time their efforts to organize don't last.

I’m one of them. My kids and wife don’t even use YouTube TV. Canceled this morning and I’m paid up until Nov 21st.

So I’ll subscribe to ESPN today and NFL Premium Plus at the end of November so I can get redzone
