I know their are a lot of lesbians in softball but I have known quite a few softball players and only one was a lesbian.

The players in the picture flipping off the camera should be suspended by the coach. The rest of the team should have been allowed to play the game.

And for the kids they did nothing wrong, those you surround yourself with project onto you
I love it from the tournament committee

Here is an updated article about the situation.
Richmond Times, Sunday Morning
At first, I was in agreement with forcing the team to forfeit, but now I think that was a little harsh due to some things I took away from the article.
So the coach took the necessary measures immediately to make the situation right. I think for a group of 12-15 year old girls, this is an appropriate way to handle the situation.
Unfortunately it is often the one who retaliates who gets caught.
WTF? It's against the rules to steal signs? That's part of the game. Seems silly.
Anyways, in summary, I now think the penalty was a bit harsh since the coach got out in front of this immediately and had his kids apologize. And I think those girls learned a valuable lesson about the evils of social media that they can use for the rest of their lives.

Atlee manager Scott Currie said after the post was called to his attention, it was deleted immediately. He arranged for his team to deliver an apology in person that night to the Kirkland players. He said after the apologies, a Kirkland coach lauded the effort.

Atlee coach Chris Mardigian said the issue was retaliation against some members of the host team who had treated the Atlee girls with less-than-ideal hospitality.

Friday's game ended in a double play shortly after a baserunner from the Kirkland team was ejected for stealing signals from the Atlee team while on second base and relaying them to the batter. A Kirkland coach was ejected as well.

For normal, rational people...yes.

Great lesson for them. It's harsh, but at the end of the day it is a softball game that means absolutely nothing, but it will def teach all the girls a lasting lesson

Let the parents take care of the punishment.
Oh - forgot ESPN is owned by ABC.
SJW mentality en masse.

This wasn't a social circle. It was a team.
Rational thing to do is punish the kids who fricked up.

Now it's SJW to punish kids for being dumbasses and making shot public? That is literally a 180 from the normal argument

Totally different scenario. Ole Miss cheated to gain a competitive advantage.
But the kids should be allowed to play games, compete, and play in bowl games.

Kap said a lot of stupid shite and he was never suspended because of it.
No he was just "let go" (49'ers publicly say they would have cut him had he not opted out), and is out millions of dollars because nobody else in the business will hire him. And it has nothing to do with talent...Case Keenum and Brandon Weeden have contracts
And Kap didn't even break any rules. These girls actually did.
In the broad sense of "public forms of expression can have consequences," these two instances are similar.

True.
But the dirty truth is Ole Miss didn't do what anyone else isn't doing. They just were amateurs at doing it.

The whole team would be punished by suspending the players. They wouldn't be at full strength in the championship game.
This teaches the whole team a lesson without directly punishing the innocent players.
