Hard work doesn’t always pay off
Karma rarely works out in a positive way. When you notice it, it’s because it’s kicked your arse
It’s takes a lot more work and time to build something than it does to tear it down. Including relationships, careers, and your body

My lesson is to cut toxic people out of your life. If you don't get something from the relationship, GTFO.
It is really hard to do. But my life is materially better after I removed a few toxic people from my life - full cut off 1 relative, distanced myself with 2 relatives, and cut out a few friends. In process of cutting out another friend, that one is tougher as I really like him when he doesn't drink but his drinking is completely out of control.

Dropping out of college when my Dad said it would be the worst mistake of my life. I went back 20 years later and graduated, but he was right--it was indeed the worst mistake of my life and a tough life lesson.

My Father passing away at 56, brother at 47 and best friend from pancreatic cancer at 47 has taught me that life is too short to live unhappily and to let those you know that you love and care about them.
