Reminds me of an episode of Pawn Stars.

White trash bitch walks in and tells Rick she has a brooch that she wants to sell. She pulls it out and it's in a Faberge box. She doesn't even know who Faberge is, he has to explain it to her. It's a platinum and diamond spider brooch. He looks at it and asks her how much she wants. She say $2000. Rick laughs and says, "Look, if I didn't have a conscience, I'd gladly give you $2000. But this thing, if it's the real deal, is worth about $30,000. So what do you want for it?" She says, "$30,000 then!" Rick explains to her that that's retail or auction price and he can't give her that and they agree on $15,000.

Apparently it was worth about $80,000.

Not Goodwill but got a Hickey-Freeman unaltered blue suit on E-bay for $50.00. When I got it altered the tailor verified it was real and worth about $1000.00. I lost it in Katrina along with everything else I owned.

So you are a doll person, I am a toy expert, so I know a little about dolls.

My greatest doll find was a $5 box of two Barbies and a ton of clothes. The two Barbies were 2nd generation (1959/60), and were in bad condition. I sold them for $300 a piece. The clothes were the gold mine. There was a complete set of Barbie's Roman Holiday collection in there. I sold it in parts for $1200, the hat alone went for $600. Teh rest of the clothes were also from the 60's, selling for $1000+ (I forget)

I have yet to find a VALUABLE doll. I look but never find them. I did find one but it was in BAD condition, sold for $200-300 dollars. It was a $5000 doll in good condition.

So, you've never borrowed a pair of shoes from a buddy if you forgot yours, or didn't have any to match an outfit?

Correct, I have never put on another person’s shoes in my life. The very few times I needed shoes that I required for a specific reason, I went out and bought myself new ones like any other self respecting adult.

Do you sleep on a mattress that you picked up off a curb? I’m hoping not

Goodwill: A pair of Denon speakers and a first edition book of The Death and Life of Great American Cities by Jane Jacobs (worth about $100 but its a bible in my field of work)
Other thrifters: various sports coats including a brooks brothers. Various pants and pearl button shirts. Some days my entire wardrobe, sans underwear, socks and shoes, is thrift store bought.

Another find.. there was/is a second hand store in Amite. My Mom found out about it.. I have no idea but this place had deals like no other. They had Polo dress shirts (very little wear) for like $10.00. I found a pair of Tony Lama alligator skinned boots (real pointy) for $25.00.

A great place to shop is Plato's Closet. Its too young for me other than the jeans, but my daughters love it.

Twice a year, they have a 90% off sale. My oldest went and spent $20 on $200 of stuff (probably $1000's brand new), wore them for a few months, and then took them back to Plato's and sold them for $42 cash.

Any "self respecting adult", which by your postings I'm guessing you're not, realizes a good deal when they see one. You obviously are a snot nose brat who thinks you're "too good to wear used shoes or clothes". Grow the frick up kid.

I hope you're parents cut you off, then you'll love Goodwill.

I think I've been in one.....and my wife love's Buffalo Exchange although their prices are higher than a thrift store. We have thrift store circuits where we hit 3 or 4 that are close together.

If only you knew.

You’re coming off as a tad bit jealous. Sad.

Plato's is higher than thrift store prices as well, but like I said, they have a 90% off sale twice a year to make room, and its cheaper than thrift stores. Granted, the entire store is not 90% off, but about half is on sale.

I am just happy my daughter knows the value of a bargain, and does not care her North Face jacket, which cost $100+ at the stores, was only $20 at Plato's. She likes Pink by VS, Adidas, Southern Marsh, etc, all expensive labels, she gets a lot cheaper at Plato's

Jealous? Of a spoiled brat germaphobe like you?

No son, I'm not jealous of you, I feel sorry for you. You probably can't even change the oil on your vehicle or change a flat tire.

I can afford nice clothes, but I choose to buy them at a discount because I'd rather save my money for my retirement or other things.

So who's the dumbass?
