There have been only a handful of times since leaving that I've wanted to be back. Most of it was during football season.

I don't give two shits about the "culture" of Louisiana, because honestly it seems pretty limiting. The food is a different story entirely. When we do visit (once every 12-18 months), our entire trip revolves around mandatory trips to see parents and 3 friends, and then eating at all of our favorite local places.

Louisiana murders Idaho in food and not much else. We MAY move back closer to home, but the longer we stay away, the smaller that desire gets.

I left Louisiana 3 years ago exactly and haven’t looked back. I’ve only returned 3 times to visit family. Central Texas offers much more In regards to employment, salary and public education for my children.

You're coming to the OT to start shite with a thread about shitting on Louisiana when this board already does that like 90% of the time. So edgy and creative. Maybe next you can start a thread about how Kate Upton is a whale.

It’s 39 degrees and raining here and will do so for the next few days. So there are certainly times when I miss Louisiana.

Maybe not with the rain but it's pretty close to mine too. 45 and sunny.

Getting a little chippy. Did you hit the Boone's Farm a little early today?

Will do, along with pretty much all of the college graduate workforce.

That’s my least favorite. I either want cold and snow or warm and sunny, not this in between stuff.

Cold and sunny is my favorite for sure. If the air is crisp and the sky is clear blue, it's incredible.

I moved back for family, I have multiple pre school age kids so living close to parents saves me a ton of money. I really don't car about living close for the culture, I used to order the food online or would take off a few days for LSU or Mardi Gras.

No, haven’t had enough. My “muh family” MIL and FIL, who are both in their 80’s, have no one other than the wife and I. I feel a responsibility to care for my in-laws in their waning years, regardless of the status of the state we’re located. Now, once that goes away, my retirement will more than likely be somewhere else, but it damn sure won’t be Austin.

Ok I do very much enjoy those days. I’m just crabby because it’s cold and spitting rain outside and my dogs DGAF and take their sweet time using the bathroom.
