The lady who cuts hair for my boy & me is in an older strip mall. This mall was once the crown jewel of the intersection.
However, the current tenants are R-L:
Discount tobacco & beer
Pawn shop
CBD oil shop
Payday & title loans
Vape shop

That business combo seems super popular with the trashy crowd.

Can’t low rent entrepreneurs with $5K seed money come up with any other business ideas?

What if they're making money selling CBD Oil?

Yeah. And they sell it on Amazon. Those are essentially services or drugs they are selling that you are referencing.

Given that there are at least 5 CBD shops in my town of 15K people, I would say that it’s at least a very cheap business to start.

That’s down the road, but rite aid closed down.

There used to be an entrepreneur that sold CD’s in front of L & S on North Foster.

He just used a picnic table for his shop. Cut out all of the overhead.

There's a check cashing, laundry mat and a Metro by T-Mobile store all in the same strip.

A normal business close to my home relocated to a larger location down the street. A "smoke/vape/cbd" trashy looking store took its place

It’s usually some combination of the following that indicates a retail area has dropped to the lowest tier.

Cricket wireless
Payday/title loan
Beauty supply
Church’s chicken
Vape/CBD
No name Fried fish/wings occupying former Wendy’s or other national brand location
Used tire shop
