What's your problem?

If you don't like Amazon, don't donate to a charity through that company.

You should still donate. As far as this gift registry, you are donating directly to children at a hospital and you are buying gifts they need, selected by the staff that knows the needs of those children.
How much more of a direct link can you get outside of doing charity work that interacts with the children themselves.

Get over yourself and be a more productive member of society.

awesome post
it's easy to buy things for yourself throughout the year, glad that it can be just as easy to buy/contribute for someone else

i think that's the best way to allow people to be more charitable

That's what I said. Do you have a hard time reading? Did you need confirmation?

Why? And...Where did I say I haven't or won't donate to charity?

I don't believe this based on my experience with Amazon.

Not relevant to this discussion.

You lack reading comprehension skills. If I donate and give things to people even when I don't have a job, is that productive enough for you? How about if I go to combat? Will that suffice? What if I volunteer with disabled Veterans, is that enough.

How much virtue signaling does one need to do, to be productive according to your self-righteous scorecard?

You can start by not trolling a thread about donating gifts to sick children...it really isn't that high of a standard.

It's a legitimate donation through Amazon, whatever personal issue you have with Amazon should be kept to yourself.

Merry Christmas...and thanks to the OP for posting this link. I was unaware of this opportunity to donate.

There are a lot of scams but in the internet age just do your own research.

For example on the Amazon Childrens Hospital wish list I chose New Mexico Childrens Hospital. When you place the order it will say the hospital and ATTN TO: John Doe.

Google that person or go to the hospital staff directory and get their office number and give them a call. Pretty easy to confirm or deny if they are managing the list.

If someone as a director or staff of a childrens hospital is stealing gifts there is nothing you can do but the odds of that are pretty miniscule.

For other charities look at charity navigator they have a pretty comprehensive review of all charities.

Thanks for posting.

Just contributed.
I can't stand for children to be neglected.
Especially at Christmas.

Not trolling. Again, I am concerned about your reading comprehension here.

Didn't say it was personal issue. And why should I keep it to myself? Will that make you give less money?

You see you have no defensible position here right? You just want to virtue signal and preach. All I've done is say I won't be involved in anything with amazon.

In my experience, those who are anti-Amazon tend to be some of the worst posters on this site. Based on your post history, I see that is accurate again.

The problem with arguing with an idiot is that they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Look back at your post history in this thread, you've done nothing but run your mouth about Amazon and other posters.
If you don't like Amazon...great...who cares.
In this instance, you are buying a gift as a consumer for another consumer. In those roles, I have never had a bad experience with Amazon.
If that company does steal your item...well guess what, as someone else mentioned, that can happen with any other company and is out of your control. The intent to aid someone else is still there.

And thank you for donating time/money/whatever to a charity. It can make a difference.

Edit: Sorry for muddying up the waters in this thread...

Our Mardi Gras krewe used to go by there but had to stop because they became restrictive on what they would allow into the hospital. Thanks for sharing.

My comments about the douche wishing someone was dead due to their lack of enthusiasm for this amazon thing stand - that guy needs psychiatric help and his overreaction probably does indicate he's a liberal. That seems to be one of the more stable traits seen in liberals.

Amazon has an established history of going long on promise and short on delivery when it comes to charity. If anything, you should thank me for bringing this issue forward. But all you have is emotion because this is associated with a children's charity issue. Your emotions don't wipe away facts. But companies like amazon are truly thankful people fail to see these things. They make an enormous amount of money like this.

My last comment on this issue: don't rationalize things falling through the cracks. Results matter. Coming through with help makes a difference. And I won't trust amazon in that regard. Never will.

You and Grim are trying to destroy this thread. I have no idea why. I also don't know why you are bringing politics into it. Times like this I really wish we had an ignore feature.

I mean really what are you gaining by making a dozen posts about how you don't like Amazon. I mean most of us don't like UF, we aren't following you into threads and stating that.

I can see the humor in trolling, but there are threads that should not be trolled.

Grow up and get a life, and yes five replies in a row calling out politics in a donation thread show a lack of one.

Have shared link to local hospital. They have significantly less donations than the New Orleans one. Hopefully we can catch up.

Nice. You can sort the list by the most recently added items and by their "highest priority" items, FWIW.
