quote:

Many people working for Aramark in Yosemite National Park just found out they'll need to find new jobs, and new places to live.

quote:

Aramark provides lodging for its employees in Yosemite.

That means the people being laid off lose their housing, too. Pimlott says they were given two weeks to find someplace new to stay.

quote:

"I don't have a lot of options. There's people here in worse shape than I am, they've got nowhere to go, literally. Me, I can go back to a previous trucking company I worked for. I don't really want to do that, because this is home. But I don't have much of a choice"

A lot of people’s lives getting ruined over this virus.

People couldn’t see the forest for the trees.

No one was willing to look 3 minutes into the future to determine what sort of impact our actions would have.

Another legitimate report of someone's life being ruined by the virus. Only 543,287,413 more stories to report.

The shite happening now is how new nations were formed back in the day.

Just saying.

I have never been more ashamed of our society than I do now. It's like we're afraid to go outside because our shadow might give us the cooties

Yep. And they ALL post on Facebook and Twitter.

Those 2 platforms have given people a voice who don't deserve one.

I fricking hate communists and communist sympathizers, that being said Lenin has a really good quote that is fitting for times like these.

“There are decades where nothing happens, and there are weeks where decades happen.”

Causing a deep recession for a virus with a 99% survival rate is ridiculous. We should have been rushing to re-open a month ago while attempting to isolate the vulnerable.

My wife traveled back home to West Africa on March 5th and has been stuck there since. It was life as usual here when she left and things quickly unraveled 2 weeks after. I've tried to explain to her how upside down things are here in the US now and prep her for what to expect but can't articulate it. I really can't imagine what the shock will be like for her when she is finally able to come home.

I don’t know man. Living out my retirement in one of the most beautiful places on earth while still making a living, and then being told I have to enter the legitimate workforce to survive would probably be pretty fricking bad.

Sure, they should have a nest egg to fall back on, but not everyone is that lucky.
