Humanity has always been a mix of good and evil; sure, certain pop culture things might have been better, or at least more my taste as a Gen Xer, than current music and movies.. but there was some heinous shite going on 30, 40, 50 years ago , if you are old enough to remember the case of Adam Walsh and movies like The Day After that predicted the effects of a nuclear fallout .

the same thing happened to the Misskelley kid in West Memphis. You can read the transcript of how the small town cops spent hours contorting his denial and putting words in his mouth until they manufactured a “confession .” All the while denying him his request for a lawyer.
And just like that case, I’m sure there were plenty of mouth breathers screeching “but they confessed !”

FYI, this guy lived in Baton Rouge and had multiple burglary charges against him while here. I sure hope they dig into every cold case murder that happened during that time.
