Does this mean that Yeti decals on truck windows will now be negative baw-cred points?

They already are. They have had their coolers marked down for a month now. I ordered a 65 for 191. Waiting 4 months for the bitch though because I got it in sea foam green

Do they not know who their customer base is?
You see this all the time on social media. Some local restaurant in Texas does something and they get pillaged on facebook - all by people who don't live in Texas. Then, they react to the social media "outrage" instead of ignoring it and continuing to serve their customer base.

But are they? I know it appears that way on the surface but I have seen nothing official from the company. Given they put off their IPO I would not be surprised that this was merely corporate belt-tightening as a result of increased pressure from the copycats which from the outside appears to be an existential crisis for them. It is a cult brand but their base is not exactly the type to buy Veblen goods.
If their strategy is to go after the SJW's, hipsters, and affluent left leaning types, all I say is good luck trying to sell those people a freaking ice chest.
Seriously the only people I've ever seen with Yeti's are hunter and fisher baws, and the Southern frat types.

I find it hard to believe a TX based company selling overpriced ice chests to good ole baws did this.

Looks like they deleted the post with a quickness ??

This is their front page on the website:
You think those two baws in the camo flat-bottom are OK with Yeti withdrawing NRA support?
This has to be a mistake.

Sounds like they got tired of winning.

It can’t be because they aren’t that stupid but I’m also confused with the decision. Maybe some decision maker just really feels strongly enough about the NRA that he/she is willing to lose some customers over it

I'm gonna speculate that they looked at the stats, crunched the numbers and based the move on what the dollars said.

Reason enough to enjoy their fail. When you put your politics above business in your business, you can suffer the consequences and I’ll enjoy the fall, because you truly deserve to fall. People are buying your coolers, not your politics, but when you’re stupid enough to throw your politics into your sales department, you’re a fricking idiot, and deserve to go away.

Maybe Yeti is fed up with the way the NRA preys a certain type of person for profit, influence and cool photos... someone needed to take a stand on taking advantage of these people and if Yeti isn't the perfect company to do so I don't know who would be.

Companies ought to stay out of politics. Their marketing departments seem mostly clueless.
Virtue signalling. It’s no better than people who changed their Facebook profile photos to whatever feel good cause of the week.

Once the equity partners bought the 80% from the original owners, they get to call the ($$$$) shots.
