quote:Our neighborhood has trick or treat for adults too in the form of beer & alcohol, so I'm for damn sure not missing that...one of our favorite times of the year
Trunk or treat is parents being too lazy to walk around with their kids and using safety as an excuse.

We are doing our best to keep the old ways alive were I live. There is still the communal trick or treating in a few spots but most of the parents and kids around here jump in the trailer being pulled by a truck, tractor, or atv and still go house to house.

Hilarious! You type this same old shite out every year.

Trick or treating is alive and well in some "good" neighborhoods. Bus loads of underprivileged kids are brought in to trick or treat in safety. Example that comes to mind is Garden Park in Gretna.

I lived out in the country growing up, so my mother would load my sister and I in the car and drive us to the houses of family and family friends. Only had a couple of neighbors close enough to walk to.
As we got older, she started putting out hay or cotton-stuffed coveralls with masks. She did that for a couple of years, then she started wearing the coveralls and scaring the shite out of the older kids and parents that would come up to the porch. LOL, two years of that and she had scared all the Trick or Treaters away.

Most of the SBR neighborhoods do it right for Halloween. Always a great night.

Halloween is effing fantastic in our neighborhood. The kids all find their friends from school and the parents all find a drink. Then about the time my old arse wants to go home its like someone flipped a switch and everyone is gone. Love it.
