One of my favorite things to listen to now and again.
Maybe racist? The caller did say he was trying to do a stereotyped voice.
It’s great when Al Michaels comes on at the end to let everyone know “that was a totally farcical call”
I guess some things never change with news trying to get the best breaking stories/reports....

Loved it. Heard it live.
The greatest was when Al Michaels later went on with Stern and they listened to the call again and talked about what an absolute moron Peter Jennings is.

Glory days of Stern. Al Michaels kept avoiding Howard's questions about how clueless Jennings was while being pranked on live TV.
Howard finally said in a kind of conciliatory tone, "Just one more question, Al, will you please tell me whose job it is to polish the empty globe that sits on top of Peter Jennings shoulders?

No, this guy only made one other prank call after some shooting on a train. He was a Knicks fan who was pissed off at the OJ coverage cutting into a playoff game

Billy West was on fire doing his Al impression during that interview.
“Peter this is Al Michaels, if Nicole calls be suspicious”

Don't remember which one of Howard's pranksters did it, but it was prime time fake news. Jennings really thought he was interviewing someone who was hiding in the bushes across the street from OJ's house while the police surrounded it.
"I see, I see O.J!"

True and cool story bros:
The day OJ was arrested a group of my fellow misfit friends were in one of their parents' suburbans outfitted with the relatively uncommon carphone and called information, got number for LA County Jail, and proceeded to call and ask to speak with OJ under pretenses I cant recall. We were put on hold while presumably there was a misguided effort by the desk officer to actually see if it were possible for OJ to take the call. No dice ultimately.
