After looking further into this, it appears that 508 Walnut falls within the "Uptown" HDLC district.

According to the HDLC's website, HDLC's jurisdiction over the Uptown district is limited to control of demolition.

Other than a few areas that is all the HDLC ever controls.

I'm cool with the house. I don't know if it would be MY choice, but I have no problem if that is what the owner wanted.

Aesthetically, I don't love it, but I don't "hate" it either.

I honestly prefer it more than the original house, but not something I would do.

The original house wasn't anything special.
