Great idea, until all the bullshite in your water builds up on the coils enough to completely block airflow.

shite doesn't work in 90% humidity climates like LA.

Keeping it out of the direct sun helps a lot. I've found on really sunny days that if I throw a tarp over the unit it cools the house much faster

This is true, as it helps keep internal pressures lower...which lessens the likelihood/severity of leaks.

They filter the filter before spraying it out.
You gotta buy filters from them annually

These "misters" on the AC have been around for over 40 years...my dad bought one in 1972. It didn't work then either..
