Sorry for not reading every post but let me say this. A great read about the USA before WWII is Charles Lindbergh and The America First Committee. America was full of pacifists who were in total denial about Hitler's plans. Lindbergh had been to Germany, flown their planes and toured their factories. He'd come back and tell France, Britian and the USA what he saw and there was little reaction. It took Pearl Harbor to get everybody's attention. FDR didn't care for Lindbergh and as a result the combat missions he flew were as a contractor not as a member of the Air Corp.

Lindbergh was opposed to war with Germany. FDR was very in favor of it and they were engaged in a propaganda war with each other to win the American people over to their side of the issue. Hitler settled that for them himself and I will continue to view that as his most egregious blunder and the one which truly sealed his fate.
And the America Firsters were not pacifists. Being opposed to a particular war is not pacifism.

Not to mention the murder of all their fellow Slavs who resisted the Boshevist Revolution and collectivization programs that followed. Or all the Slavs of the Soviet military murdered during Stalin's purges. I would argue the Slavs were the biggest victims of Russian Bolshevism.
