That wasn't a pro-Slavic revolution in the slightest. And a large number of the leaders of that revolution were not Slavic nor interested in the well being of Slavs. In fact, I would consider that revolution the greatest tragedy to ever befall those poor Slavic masses that fell victim to it.

Lenin and Pokrovsky were Great Russian. Not sure about Nogin (I think Great Russian), but Bogdanov was White Russian. Lunacharsky was Ukrainian or Ukrainian/Russian mix. Trotsky, Kamenev, Zinoviev and Martov were all Jewish. Stalin was Georgian.
Bolshevism was a Marxist movement dominated by radicals, largely Jewish, not a nationalistic, Slavic movement in any way. Stalin tried to appease the Russians by putting them in charge of as much stuff as he could stomach.

You're thinking of the patronymic, Darth. The "-ovich" or "-evna."
The "-ov" is genitive, plural case. Literally "of the." Ivan Ivanovich Ivanov - "John, son of John of the family of Johns."
