I forget the name of the bar but it was somewhere in Minnesota. All those guys were bouncers. Way to get your arse kicked.

He definitely wasn't a fan of leg day.

Bret Hart would have beat the frick out if Shawn IRL

Bret did beat up HBK in real life, but it was closer to a sissy slap fight than a beatdown despite Bret being trained by shooters in The Dungeon.

The story repeated by Cornette and others is that it was very brief and that HBK ended up being short a huge hank of hair then trying to take his ball and go home.

I believe you. I might be able to find if I pulled 89-90 out. And that was rough patch for WWF. WCW/NWA was really smoking and had better tag teams and a fifth of the territory (territory was all but gone by then)...but they had Ted Turner. And Flair was still there as well as Luger, Sting, and midnight/RnR/Freebirds/Samoans. Dusty and Arn and Tully had defected. By 92, WWF was mad scrambling...stupid personas like the Berzerker, Max Moon,Papa Schongo, Repo Man...man Vince took talent and just rebranded it for the sake of not allowing anyone prior to claim a legacy. He even renamed Kerry Von Eric.

Wcw was on fire. You had Vader, Sting, Ron Simmons, Windham, Orndorff, cactus, Barbarian, Van Hammer, Sid Vicious, the tail end of the Freebirds, and RUDE was there. Plus you had all of the NWA Japan talent like Jushin Liger and The Great Muta. And the tail end of Dr. Death and Terry Gordy. Meanwhile WWF was relying on Warrior and Savage and Hart and Bulldog to carry them through. HbK was still a new soloist wrestling the likes of Rick Martel and Tito Santana nonstop.

Amazing...by 1996-97, almost all of the WCW talent had defected to WWF and the WWF talent went to WCW. By 99, WWF killed em.

Terry Gordy

I first met him in 1989. He was a damn good guy.

Towards the end of his life he was working as a bouncer at the same bar where my nephew bounced. He was already having health issues and was only in his late 30s.

He is another that died at 40.

Everyone talks about Haku/Meng being a real life tough guy.

Another guy that is reportedly a super badass in real life is the Undertaker. They say he carries a lot of respect in the locker room.

That sucks man. He was a good dude. He was like a miniature Andre. He could move so well in the ring. But everyone in the business respected Bam Bam.

Gary Hart was just too much of a genius. Fritz and WCCW were tailor made for the small time Suburb audience. He made the Freebird/Von Erich rivalry happen. For just over 3 years, every Saturday night at the Dallas Sportitorium and every Monday in Fort Worth Convention Center, it was 6 man tag/4 man tag/singles using all of the guys in some form or another...along with Gentleman Chris Adams, Gino cocaine Hernandez, Bruiser Brodie, and the Missing Link. Territory blew up with world wide syndication.

Gordy was a huge reason for that. Hayes was the voice and defacto manager and Buddy Roberts was the worker, but Goedy was the worker who could go 20 minutes with Kevin Von Erich. And he was 280 pounds.

Isn't that why Chuck Liddell used to paint his toenails pink and wear flip-flops to a bar?

A lot of fighters paint their toenails because it helps strengthen them so they don't crack when kicking. Most paint them with clear polish.

Chuck let his daughter paint them so that is the reason for the color

And Chuck wears flip flops everywhere because he likes them.

If I ever saw Chuck Liddell in public and his toenails were painted pink.

I would tell him in a heartbeat.

That guy over there at the other end of the bar said you were a pussy.
