Do I want it to happen because it could be interesting or fun to watch or do I not want it to happen and watch people melt down over that because watching people melt down is interesting and fun to watch.

Wishn my issue is the way the boosters or whomever now have the power. Booster do not understand the inner workings and it sets a terrible precedent and just diluted the candidate pool immediately
The big name just became a Dooley level candidate. Tennessee became a lesser job than Arkansas.

I thought the Hardy's had to wait for no one else to claim ownership in the 30 days after the rights to the character go through whatever the governmental process is they are going through. The 30 days doesn't start till like December 8th.

The rights go back to Matt Dec 19 if Impact doesn't respond. Considering Impact has entirely new owners now, and Jeff Jarret isn't associated with the company anymore, it seems unlikely they would challenge it.

I would say you may have a misunderstanding of the situation
The Haslems, by far our biggest boosters and of highest influence, appear to have shoehorned this hire of Schiano (they wanted to hire him for the Browns in 14 but were told to stay away bc of Psu stuff (supposedly on the second part but he absolutely interviewed)).
This was more of a rebellion against the boosters than the other way around
Many have accused the Haslem of playing puppet with our AD ever since Dickey resigned in 2003 and the evidence seems to point to yes, that's exactly what they do
There are also rumors, rumors with hardly any concrete evidence, that the Haslems don't really want a big name bc that may lead to an erosion of their power. Not that we had any chance with him but how are the Haslems gonna boss Gruden around? He would just laugh in their face and go home
It's also been reported that Currie "polled" boosters/people of influence on Saturday night about Schiano and they almost unanimously reacted negatively. Presumably bc the Haslems still wanted him
This was a rebellion against the Haslems, our biggest boosters, not a rebellion by them
