31 World Titles between these two.

A lot of the PLEs just feel like themed RAW episodes
The Rock not bothering to remain involved in the Cena heel storyline, let alone make an appearance at WM underscores how cheap the quality of these storylines have gotten and the attitude of TKO has diluted the PLEs
WM in Philly was the peak of what it could be with celebrity involvement and infusion of legends into storylines. It’s like they shot their creative wad and now they can’t get buy in from their own bosses to build on that momentum
I'm just saying this as someone that was watching in the 90s and 00s, but everything feels smaller. The ramp is shorter, the ring looks smaller. It does not feel as grand. They let the entrance music play a lot longer. This might be intentional to make it more "intimate" but to me it just looks...cheap?

this PLE gonna be shorter than Smackdown last night. No way Cena can do 60 mins.
Good thing these are on Peacock, would be mad if you paid for it.

So youre telling me WWE needs the Tribal Chief back with the belt.

Oh these guys can go. Been watching them since they popped out of OVW. The match will be good. I was just talking about the overall production.

There is no reason for them to try hard creatively when the fans are going to pop for everything no matter what and are more interested in singing than seeing any matches. Every show sells out or comes close to it with ticket prices through the roof.

That shot with the kid holding the sign panning to orton was beautiful holy shite
I missed it, what did it say?

Cena is the most over guy in wwe and his whole gimmick is to be as boring and bland as possible lol. We need new stars

This is prob my biggest issue with HHH. He is more the antithesis of Vince McMahon showmanship.
99-00 RAW is WAR on a Monday Night had more pyro, better showmanship than anything outside of WM this year.

Ido enjoy Orton as a face after growing up with him as a heel.
Same.
But Orton was a top-level heel.

Can't believe this is the last man we will ever see hold the WWE title
Posted on 5/10/25 at 8:14 pm to PurpleandGold Motown
Arguably one of the best rivalries of the last 30 years.
Crazy they came up together in OVW.

You're thinking of Cody. Cena's promos are still great.

think we learned last night on Smackdown that there are now 2 Randy Ortons.
Yea did we ever find out who that was? Watched it today
Posted on 5/10/25 at 8:16 pm to Wishnitwas1998
I think I read it was Shawn Spears.
Posted on 5/10/25 at 8:16 pm to Brosef Stalin
Yeah his promos are but mainly because noone else can do a good one. Whats the finish here? Cena intentional Dq?

I think it’s a lot of by product of making things easier to film and cost cutting (shorter ramp, less material to transport week over week, more floor space to pack people into with overpriced tickets). The attitude era had a lot of charms simply because everything was still kind of new making Wrestling into a reality TV show. Now that you can watch virtually every match ever (not to mention a billion different wrestling highlights) on Peacock/Netflix and now that there are dozens of Wrestling fan/influencer channels on YouTube that cover the industry (and make kayfabe even more apparent), the novelty just isn’t what it was.

Only issue with this match is there is no way this old man cena could defeat this beast incarnate randy orton. Even in a scripted match lol
