In other words, they will create a bottle neck scenario and now traffic will back up before the basin bridge.

Yes. The basin bridge may one day be widened to 6 lanes, but that's a LONG ways off.

So wait, all of that shite out there to add one lane to each side

Also to replace to road bed for one of the bumpiest parts of I-10.

False. I 10 needs to be 6 lanes throughout the state. Gotta start somewhere

False again I-10 needs to be 8 lanes throughout the state so you take into account interstate growth over the next 50 years.

I think a turnpike with limited exits needs to run parallel (5-8 miles north) of I-10 between Slidell and Lake Charles.

3 lanes that will bottleneck at the bridge over the swamp that only to be out-derped 20 miles
later when I-10 goes to essentially one lane as soon as you cross the frigging Mississippi River into Baton Rouge!!

The eventual goal is to widen I-10 between the Basin bridge and Crowley.

I understand the basin bridge because there's a natural barrier there that completely changes the game for expansion.

Why Crowley, though? That just seems like an arbitrary place to stop. "We're only going to Crowley. frick you, Jennings."

Jennings is more arbitrary than Crowley.

That stretch is deemed a shipping corridor. They got a bunch of federal money for this project.

I really wish I'd started a road construction company & concrete/asphalt plant years ago.

Yeah, but not as arbitrary as calling out the Iota or Egan exits. Jennings is the next place past Crowley that isn't just an exit in the middle of nowhere and actually goes through part of the town named on the sign.

I carefully thought this out, as you can see.
