WTF: A mass shooting in Ocean Springs aka Mayberry

The crime rate was so low when I lived in OS years ago that it was actually the subject of a Saturday Night live skit and the Best of OS police reports was a year favorite with such classics as:
Lady calls police saying someone keeps calling her telling her to have a nice day.
Police called after couple finds a puppet head with a smiley face on it in the mailbox .
And my neighbors, Police called by lady to report that neighbors dog is urinating onto their yard through chain linked fence. (That one was really nasty and some bad language between the parties was almost exchanged.)
I don’t think we had a murder within city limits my 20 something years leaving there. St Martin is not OS btw.
I saw this Sun Herald article on the Sun Herald app and thought you’d be interested.
Police arrest one in mass shooting that killed one, injured 6 at Ocean Springs restaurant

Yeah, but did they use an “assault style rifle”? That’s all that matters.

There's a small but significant element of crime growing in OS. Thugs have discovered downtown OS nightlife. Shootings are become less rare, unfortunately. Doesn't help that OS is bordered by sketch on all sides.

I was staying in Biloxi and was going to go eat somewhere in Ocean Springs and it looked shady as shite, ended up going back to Biloxi

Yeah, we had no nightlife in Ocean Springs back then and it was well known for being the toughest place on the Coast for DUIs. I could drink at the OSYC, lagniappes and a few other places. No one who had been drinking wanted to go over the bridge back then.
People are fricking nuts now. Can’t want until the others land and take over. (Lol)

Where were you wandering around? OS doesn't start looking sketchy until deep in Gulf Park Estates. You were probably in St. Martin.

I know lots of people who were murdered in Biloxi bro, the cops were all on the take back then, my buddies GF died in a swimming pool accident years ago, (yeah he killed her) they didn’t even open a file. Hell, the sheriff got caught helping a dope plane land in the 80s. He committed suicide afterwards of course.
Biloxi isn’t safer than most cities

Gulf Park Estate has had a few famous murders but nothing like St Martin, but they aren’t in Ocean Springs and never will be. However, the media always says that as OS is the closest town.

#1 Madison - Love that fricking town. It's like a whole Perkin's Rowe community without the riffraff coming over to destroy it.

You have got to be one of the most frenetic posters on this site.

People were pissed when that woman killed that chicken.

I'm not exactly sure what this thread is. It sounds like the ramblings of a mental patient.

Yeah, pretty needless and mean spirited. I’m not one to get up in arms over the death of a chicken, but killing something beloved by the community for no reason is nasty.
