Wrought iron fence

Nothing fancy, need a couple hundred linear feet, 6 foot high with three small gates. Any ideas on reasonable price per LF? Yard gradually slopes towards back, no major site access issues. North DFW. Trying to get a rough idea before calling contractors.

Yea. I need very little for under my carport, and the guy said he could give me 3 SCRAP pieces for 37/lf.

HOA is stupid. Cast aluminum looks like wrought iron but doesn't degrade.

My guess is the HOA would be perfectly fine with aluminum.
I have never seen anyone look at an aluminum fence and NOT call it a wrought iron fence.

See if the covenants say iron or iron-look. Otherwise, that really sucks and is going to be insanely expensive.

That much wrought iron is con a cost some serious cash. Often, your best bet would be to hire a welder to make it for you on site. I think your hoa means wrought iron-style fencing, as aluminum is identical, but is lots easier to maintain.

Take a walk around your neighborhood and see what everyone else has. Hopefully you can get by with aluminum.

It won't be wrought iron, true wrought iron will be very expensive and is used very rarely anymore in this application Your are looking at powder coated light gauge iron or aluminum. I used the powder coated iron at my house and it is strong and has held up well. I enclosed my entire front yard since I put a 8' wood fence around the back yard. I went down both sides and across the front approx 300' total with one front walk gates and pair of gates at the driveway and I think material ran $4,000 or somewhere close. I ordered it directly from the manufacturer, cant remember the name, but located in Tennessee maybe around nashville cant remember and they shipped it direct to my house I had guys that work for me install it, it is very easy if you have some reasonably skilled people. With electric gate openers etc I think I'm in it around $6,000 total

Lightweight iron is OK per HOA thank God..... Don't know why I was thinking it had to be wrought. This is the golf course style stuff. I don't have any experience buying or paying for this stuff. We don't want to go wood (they allow 6' board on board) as the back yard has a great view of a creek and the rest of the big back yard. Just need something to keep the dog and kid contained.

6' Tubular Steel fence in DFW is probably $45-55 a foot on residential jobs.
3x3 post on 8' centers, 1" runners, 3/4" pickets.
