Sent out a bunch of "Happy Thanksgiving" texts. Well, one of my former employees has a different number, and the gentleman who got my text called me. Older man, from north Baton Rouge. It was a lively conversation, he was telling me about the family cooking turkey and greens. I told him I grew up on Evangeline Street and he said he lived around the corner. Just something random and heartwarming. I told him I expected an invite next year and he said I was more than welcome. I love LA people.

Yeah. I was expecting it to end on some variant of PIIHB.

I used to work for a company out of Houma. I will say this for sure. Coon-asses are some of the most hospitable folks on the planet. Good story/share

Yeah, people don't apparently understand that this was an older black gentleman, that told me he was 3 beers in. I told him he needed something stronger. He laughed.

Sadly, that's where I dealt with most of the drugs I did and sold, so I know the Dixie/Brookstown area quite well.

Glad that's all the past, but, you're right, there are still some real good people in those areas. Some of the older people are some of the nicest people you could ever meet.

Getting icecream from the Dixie store on N. Foster? Brookstown, Mohican, Prescott. Yeah, not great areas. I just had a funeral at St. Gerard. It's gone downhill since I left in 1997.

140 mph winds, flooding for a month!!!! Pretty sure my yankee SO was done with this place. I said "It's just a little rain and wind."
