Yes the NFL does get a lot of money from TV, but 2 billion dollars is significant sum. Not even counting parking, concessions, programs, and merchandise.
$125 average ticket cost x8 regular season games- $1000 (not even counting preseason)
Average NFL attendance 69,000 per game X $1000= $69,000,000 per team
$69,000,000 x 32 teams= 2,176,000,000

Home teams don't keep 100% of ticket money. I believe its a 60/40 split with the away team.
