The forest service does that in many of the national forests. The do controlled burns, cut fire breaks and clear cut entire areas of aging trees.

What are the extreme measures for a wildfire?

Seriously?

Thinning forests.
Controlled burns.
Removal of fuel risks like dead/dying plants.
Urge changing landscaping to something more fire resistant.
Serious enforcement of fires among homeless and smokers.
Maintenance of power grid, preferably going underground instead of on poles.
Building codes required for risk areas to include metal roofing, masonry veneers, etc.
How about not building houses on top of one another? And if you do, why not bulldoze the house about to catch on fire to save the next houses in the row?
Use math to calculate equipment/supplies/water needed in the event of a disaster and place them appropriately so they can be accessed.
Train all public employees on response. Train citizens on what to do, i.e. hey don't abandon your car blocking the road.
When conditions are high risk, send crews to clear streets of debris and make sure communities are prepared.
If you live in a damn fire zone and have a swimming pool, get a pump and a hose... at Harbor Freight it's barely an inconvenience.

What kind of buffoon are you?

That would make entirely too much sense for these people to ever have had that thought enter their skulls.

To be honest, you could clear all the underbrush out and that isn’t going to stop a forest fire in California with 50-100 mph winds.

It may have not stopped these fires but it could prevent other ones and that's why you do it

They're getting rid of ICE in the next decade. What more do you want from them?

The unidentified suspect was seen riding around Woodland Hills on a bicycle on Thursday afternoon setting fire to several old Christmas trees and garbage cans at the same time as the Kenneth Fire started, locals said.
