I would have replied "no" even before opening the post.

I don't give strangers money. I don't listen to their sob story either.

There are some worthy causes. I'll contribute to kids' sports clubs for travel expenses and equipment or to kids with severe illnesses to help cover costs not covered by insurance like hotel rooms, meals, etc.

However, a lot of these requests stem directly from adult incompetence or irresponsibility.

Sabi,

Problem with that is that unless you put the money directly in those kids hand it will go 90 cents on the dollar to administrative costs and the paying off of officials in these countries. So when you give to these "feed the children" type organizations the money is skimmed off the top.

You know this man.
