That place is basically a trailer park.
One of those trailer parks where houses seem to average around a half a million.

I guess whatever boats your float. You say fishing, I say diving, we all have our preferences.

If you decide to purchase one, like I said, I'll toss in some money for beer if you let me crash on the balcony a few times a year.

Those same people are going to be bitching when the weather gets bad.

So do the taxpayers get to bail them out when their houses are inevitably destroyed in the next hurricane?

I've been in the second house in your post and know the owners.

Their place is fantastic and so are they.

\Doesn't look like it'd take very long for everyone to get out if they got notice of a bad storm.

Yes, and it is irresponsible to build right along the beach. I remember after Ike, the beaches eroded so much that where there were once beachfront streets and homes were at that point basically in the gulf.

The development in the OP is not smart.

I have some family friends that have done the same... Not really my thing but pretty cool if you dig waterfront living and still have to work in the greater Houston area.

Obviously it sucks come hurricane time but the homes are all on stilts and you evacuate when one is coming your way so it's not like guaranteed death or anything.

Eta: is def no trailer park. The folks I know who reside there would be technically millionaires. Oil service company exec who's done quite well for himself.... I doubt most on here could even afford the cheapest tiki has to offer.

A friends dad had a place there years ago, it was badass.

Step out of your back yard and go offshore

All the locals knew each other and interacted over beers, I loved it.
