It is plausible, idiot. If someone in Tunisia gave you a key to a safety deposit box in Cape Town with 5 million dollars in it, would you try to make it there? You are poor and have no resources. How much more plausible can I make it?

Hiking across not even a continent but only a state would not be possible without supplies or money or resources. If it's a hot summer day in the south then there's a chance you die in a day from dehydration without at least water. If you drink from open sources of water then you're risking poisoning yourself without the supplies to purify the water.

This really is just a totally implausible and stupid hypothetical.

Pretty sure I’d survive a walk across Delaware or Rhode Island.

So you're trekking across the Sahara, through some serious terrorist strongholds, through the jungle that still has canibslistic tribes, then through the entire southern half of the continent.

Nope. No. frick no.

If you're creative and inventive enough it could be done. The Polynesians crossed the Pacific with less.

You're definitely taking your chances and you'd have to be desperate to try. Someone with a regular income wouldn't bother.

Explain how it's plausible.

It’s a yes or no question. It’s not like I’m asking if you could scavenger scraps and build a rocket and fly to Jupiter for 5 million dollars.

It could be done. Dangerous and a low percent chance of success, but there are people who would attempt it.

Not to start with. You could probably acquire stuff along the way.

I guarantee you there are. If I didn’t have a family I would probably do it. I may be dumb or have a death wish though.

I don’t think I’d walk through Cape Town at night unarmed for that.

Exactly. I'm not worried about Niger and Chad at all because I'd be dead 3 days into the Sahara part of it.
