Would You Drive This? US Coast Guard 47' Motor Life Boat

The Coast Guard has used MLB's for high risk rescue missions for years. The current crop of 47 foot MLB's started service in 1997.
These nimble, very tough US Coast Guard boats are powered by two 435 horsepower Detroit Diesel engines and have a top speed of about 30 miles per hour. They are manufactured by Textron Marine Systems
The 47' MLB is designed to weather hurricane force winds and heavy seas, capable of surviving winds up to 60 knots (110 km/h), breaking surf up to 6 m (20 ft) and impacts up to three G's.[3] If the boat should capsize, it self-rights in less than ten seconds with all equipment fully functional.
In those conditions, very few of us could probably even stay on board - much less retain enough awareness to actually perform the tasks required of the crew.
Would you take this one for a spin in heavy seas?

And still operated by the red headed step-child of the military.
Today only: to my Coast Guard brothers in arms Happy Independence Day.

Built in NOLA east at Textron Marine. Worked there for 13 years.

That seems very low.

Lol. Spoken like a true landlubber. With 20 knots of wind coming over the bow, you can launch planes off a stationary aircraft carrier. Try walking across any weather deck in 20+ knot winds.
